Factory Engineer

Starting salary at $96,918 (on-site)We are seeking an experienced and motivated Factory Engineer at our Crookston, MN factory.
This position reports to the Engineering Superintendent.
The Factory Engineer manages all aspects of assigned factory capital projects to ensure project completion to specifications, on schedule and within budget.
Additionally, manages activities of construction contractors on site ensuring compliance with Company safety requirements, develops capital project budgets and schedules work activities.
This position works closely with Purchasing in the development of construction bid packages.
The principal accountabilities of this position include:
Lead and promote a positive work culture through Company Values of Safety, Integrity, Quality, Teamwork, and Accountability.
Provides input and direction on key projects assigned to ensure safe and sanitary working conditions which meet all company and regulatory agency policies.
Coordinates capital projects with the Maintenance and Production Superintendent as well as Engineers to ensure profitable operations.
Provides resources and information to design systems to develop management and bargaining unit personnel through training to improve skills and factory performance.
Manages all aspects of capital projects including scope development, budgeting, scheduling, design, bidding, construction management and startup.
Applies knowledge of technical discipline, core business, or related processing experience to select methods and resources to complete assigned capital projects.
Prioritizes tasks within assigned capital projects and effectively delegates within the constraints of project organization.
Implements standard contracts when appropriate.
Independently develops project budgets and schedules, obtains information and tasks to go into schedules and works within established budgets and schedules.
Generates and tests new approaches to methods, procedures or technical solutions to the best advantage of the Company.
Utilizes philosophy of investment 'life-cycle' cost minimization.
To be successful in this position requires a bachelor's degree in engineering, with previous intern and coop experience in a related industry and 5 - 7 years' experience is ideal.
Effective management skills to ensure completion of assigned projects within established parameters and the ability to recognize, identify, communicate, and recommend solutions to problems or significant issues is essential.
Extremely effective communication skills are required in building effective working relationships.
